ShamPoochies, a beauty salon for pets, has opened at 2106 Creighton Road and is ready to give your pet some glamour.

Owner Barbara Miller has wanted her own grooming shop for 20 years. So when she lost her job at local veterinarian's office recently, she and her husband decided now was the time.

ShamPoochies also does manicures and pedicures, including nail trimming, filing, and polishing.

"Some pets get extensions called Soft Paws to prevent the pet from hurting themselves or a person," Miller said. "We also have a variety of shampoos to match all skin types."

Some pets may not like the fact that they are turning gray and ShamPoochies is prepared . "We can color treat their coat with a safe and gentle dye, and can even accommodate them with a variety of color choices -green Mowhawks, pink Poodles, and traditional Mardi Gras colors," Miller said.
